Hillary Clinton joked during a panel discussion at The Wing, a women’s only co-working space, that “Fox News is always trying to impeach” her despite her having lost the 2016 election.
As first reported by The Wrap, Clinton said:
“Fox News is always trying to impeach me, so somebody needs to tell them that doesn’t apply to a private citizen. When you’ve been accused of everything like I have, and you realize some people believe it, it’s really depressing,”
The former New York senator, former Secretary of State also expressed admiration for “staying power of the resistance. Clinton said:
“I’ve really been admiring the staying power of the resistance because it’s hard when you are fighting on so many fronts. But I would hope that we can change the political culture… because I don’t want anybody going through that. I don’t care who you are. I don’t care how much I agree or disagree with you. To be lied about persistently, to be vilified is very harmful.”
As luck would have it, Clinton’s comments were immediately picked up by Fox News Wednesday, being reported on “Fox & Friends First” in the 4 a.m. hour. Hillary Clinton’s remarks were also discussed repeatedly on the “Fox & Friends” morning show, which runs from 6:00 a.m to 9:00 a.m.
