Like a toddler who didn’t get his way, President Donald Trump reportedly threw a tantrum on Air Force One recently.
The tantrum was the result of Trump learning that Associate Attorney General Stephen Boyd felt that it would be “extraordinarily reckless” to release a classified memo written by Republican Representative Devin Nunes, who is a member of the House Intelligence Committee.
This information was relayed to Trump as he was returning from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The memo to which Boyd was referring apparently shows evidence that the special investigation into Russian tampering with the 2016 Presidential Election has been mishandled.
Trump has been calling for the memo to be released, probably because he hopes it might support his belief that the entire investigation is simply a partisan “witch hunt”, a belief he has mentioned numerous times.
Apparently Trump is becoming more and more frustrated that the Department of Justice hasn’t been doing everything he thinks they should be doing. He reportedly refers to the employees of the DOJ as “his guys” and has openly wondered why the “Trump Justice Department” isn’t doing what he tells them to do.
Trump’s insistence upon being involved in the day-to-day affairs of the Department of Justice and the FBI have led to a slew of officials from both offices threatening to step down. The latest to leave was FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who stepped down after months of hounding from Trump, who went so far as to refer to McCabe and his wife as losers.
