Per a request filed under the Freedom of Information Act, the warrant that led to the search and seizure of Anthony Weiner’s computer was unsealed. Many Americans believe that this warrant cost Hillary Clinton the election. Given the contents of the warrant, that possibility seems even more realistic.
USA Today broke the story, and in the article’s first paragraph, it is noted that the “lawyer who requested it says it offers ‘nothing at all’ to merit the agency’s actions leading up to the Nov. 8 election.” The FBI request for the warrant mentioned that they had “probable cause to believe” there was evidence of illegal activities, but was terribly unspecific.
Randy Schoenberg of Los Angeles is the lawyer who made the FIA request. When commenting on the communications between Clinton and Huma Abedin, Weiner’s soon to be ex wife and long time aide to Hillary Clinton, Schoenberg stated,
“I see nothing at all in the search warrant application that would give rise to probable cause, nothing that would make anyone suspect that there was anything on the laptop beyond what the FBI had already searched and determined not to be evidence of a crime, nothing to suggest that there would be anything other than routine correspondence.”
The news of the warrant caused insurmountable damage, even though Comey confirmed there was no new or significant information in the emails two days before the election. Bill Clinton, husband of Hillary, has stated that while his wife fought a good fight, she couldn’t overcome the damage done by the warrant, saying she “fought through everything, and she prevailed against it all…We had the Russians and the FBI deal. But she couldn’t prevail against that.”
We all know that Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by a huge margin, so it is safe to say that the election was stolen from her when the FBI made the unprecedented move to issue a warrant with no grounds, and when Comey made the unnecessary announcement to Congress that Hillary was once again under investigation. We should never forget how easily Clinton’s hard work was torpedoed by shady people.
